HpE’s Wangen KL-SL & KL-RL (with hopper feed screw) pumps are in use worldwide, processing seafood and waste. The field of application covers fresh seafood on board ships to land based factories processing the fish waste.
These pumps use a unique combination of the Wangen LWR cartridge shaft seal and sealed cardan shaft joints to significantly reduce build-up of fish scales and organic matter around these critical areas giving much longer running times between cleaning and servicing. They also use a robust bearing housing that isolates any abnormal pump forces from the geared motor units, where many others will use a close coupled arrangement to reduce initial cost at the expense of long term benefit.
Users have also benefited from longer service life on the pump stators…Typically 12-18 months when compared to 4-6 months on other similar pumps.
